Goals
Lovelies,
I'm about to do something ill advised.
I'm about to tell you about a dream I had last night.
I know, I know! A dream is endlessly interesting to the person who had it! And deathly dull to the person nodding politely along!
But you guys, my dream was REALLY NEAT!
I was running on an old country road. Fields for miles. Mountains cutting a jagged horizon. A beautiful sky marked with sunset neons of pink and purple and orange.
I woke to the verbiage: The sun is setting on my running career.
And that's how I'm feeling this September. As summer passes the baton and the Fall steels herself for a sprint to the finish, I am excited! I am delighted! There is SO VERY MUCH I want to do this Fall. A couple productions to complete. Much writing to champion forth. A backlog of IDEATION as the men in collared shirts love to say. And no DOUBT songs to write. In the savvy plus heartfelt SOUL genre. But I am no longer seduced by adrenalin. Or at least: #goals. I want to take this all at a pace that keeps my heartbeat mid-tempo. I want to STROLL toward that sky on fire, savoring each breeze of creative impulse that crosses my path.
I believe that creativity is thrill enough without the racing.
And I'm about to prove it so!
With all my love,
Rachel
